Top New Products Announced at Western Foodservice & Hospitality Expo


LOS ANGELES, CA- Thousands of new products and services for restaurants, caterers and catering establishments were presented by 400 exhibiting companies during this week Western Food & Hospitality Fair and Coffee Fest at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Journalists from several industry publications selected a dozen new products that entered a pitch competition at the show. The following companies participated and the participants selected a big winner.

The trade show and conference will take place through Tuesday, August 30 at the Los Angeles Convention Center with the trade show open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The following events are scheduled today:

TUESDAY AUGUST 30 – Showroom open from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

San Francisco Wine School is proud to host this special session of Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) Training in collaboration with the California Restaurant Association. Registrants will also receive free admission to the show. (8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.)

· Cooking demonstration with chef Lauren Lawless who lives by his motto of inspiring the world one plate at a time. She has appeared on shows such as Masterchef, Travel Channel’s Best in Food as well as Food Network’s Supermarket Stakeout where she won the grand prize and the title of Supermarket Stakeout Champion. (11:30 a.m. Center stage)

· Cooking demonstration with Deanna “Bomb Chica” Colon, who grew up in an Italian restaurant in North Boston where she learned authentic Italian cooking in the family restaurant and at home. Deanna discovered her talents for music early on, so at 18, cooking took over the backseat. She received a full scholarship to Berklee College of Music. Deanna is an entertaining dynamo! Whether on stage or on a plate, She Cooks. She sings. She Entertains. (1:00 p.m. – Central stage)
